Ever feel the tension between what you think you should do and what you know...whether it makes sense to others or not?
Maybe logic is pointing to it. It looks good on paper. But your heart desires something else.
Perhaps this happened when you were choosing what to study. Or when you were in a job search.
The last time I ran a long race , I signed up because it was "time" to. I trained like I should, but it was drudgery. I assumed race day hype would snap me out of it, but my heart just wasn't in it and the outcome wasn't good.
It took me 30+ minutes longer ever before. Bless my dear race partner. He earned some jewels in his crown that day for patience and encouragement.
Yes, that experience reminded me I could do hard things. And, it was also a valuable lesson from a minor decision to tune in and stay true to my gut.
What about you? What is your intuition telling you about a challenge or opportunity?
Culture praises logic. It says the best decisions come from eliminating emotion. But science is finding that's not true.
Your intuition shares valuable wisdom...wisdom stored over time...that helps you tap into what you don't know that you know.
And it's like any relationship. The more you listen and engage with it, the stronger it becomes.
I'm not saying to toss out the facts. But I am encouraging you to give yourself permission to stop and ask: What is your gut telling you? How can you honor that?
Today’s post was inspired by the coaching class I taught the other night. We talked about it because coaching is designed to help you tap into this internal wisdom.
As always, I'd love to hear from you. REPLY and let me know!
